My family and I Camp here at least once a year. Love to fish here. Lake is good for bass fishing. This lake is also popular for kayaks. The campground has zero shower houses and running water. You must bring your own water. They have pit toilets. Last year they recently added more electric sites which is nice because there was only 6 sites previously with electric. Dog friendly. Kids playground. A few hiking trails. Camp sites are throughout a large mature pine forest. It’s beautiful. There is a dump station for RV trailers etc. NOTE: I do NOT recommend staying here around holidays like memorial, independence, or Labor Day as I’ve experienced unruly crowds and parties till 3am. Nobody patrols the campground 24/7 here.

A big reservoir, clean areas to swim and enjoy water sports: kayaking, wind and kite surfing, paddle boarding and so much more. The areas near the water are pretty secluded and many people fish. A lot of parking lots around it, with restrooms that are usually clean. There is also a good campground. You have to register to stay there.

They updated more sites to electric now. No full hookups, no potable water on site. There is a dump station. Sites are spread out enough and many of them are pretty deep. Plenty of trees. Not great for big RVs but it is manageable. Bathrooms are pit toilets so I am enjoying having an RV

Me and a few buddies stayed here during a fishing trip and we hated it. It has zero running water, so no showers or decent toilets. Only out houses. This place is overly strict on EVERYTHING. They have limited electric lots, I tried booking our lots 2 months early and still couldn’t get electric so we thought we could take our very small and quiet genarator to run DURING THE DAY to charge our phones/batteries. well nope. They don’t allow generators. So we thought well we could just let our vehicles run to charge our batteries DURING THE DAY, oh wait! Nope can’t do that either. Aren’t allowed to let vehicles idle to charge batteries. Which is insane to me! If I want to sit in the AC of my truck, take a break from the heat, charge my phone in the middle of the day, I’m going to. The older gentleman at the entrance was rude every time we passed through. He told us every single time we entered “don’t park in the grass” but there was ZERO grass on our camping lot. It was nothing but dirt. They were insanely strict on who could come in the campground during the day. my dad was smart and stayed in a hotel for this trip, He was stopping by the campground to pick something up from us and you would have thought he was there to rob the place. the older gentleman gave him such a hard time. So they’re super strict on who can enter during the day, but once the old man at the entrance goes home in the evening, it turns into a free for all! There were people cruising through the campground all night, being loud, yelling, revving their vehicles. But my dad can’t meet us at our lot to pickup a fishing pole. The first day after staying, we woke up to my bass boat COVERED in some sort of tree sap. All over the seats, carpet and electronics. We were suppose to stay Thursday - Sunday but we left Saturday because we disliked this place so much. The only positive thing about this place is they had a decent boat ramp close by. But there’s 3 other ramps that were just as good that have nothing to do with this terrible campground. Next time we go up that way to fish, we will definitely pay a little more and just get a hotel or airb&b. It’s not worth saving a few bucks and having a...

I tried to reschedule my date due to an unforeseen issue a week before we went camping. I simply wanted to switch to a later date, I was not asking for a refund. I was directed to Bonnie, the representative, via email. She told me that they could not reschedule me and would not give me a valid reason other than “it’s policy.” I read the fine print in the disclaimer on the website and in my confirmation email and it did not state anywhere in either place that they would not reschedule. I do not recommend this campground due to the customer service and also there are no bathroom facilities nor are there any shower facilities. It is primitive. Also, The attendant at the gate is extremely rude. They are far too strict for what you get and are unrealistic with many of the rules, such as allowing cars to idle to charge devices. Yet, no one seems to care if loud children wake everyone up at 6am or people cruise through the campground at night when no one is there at the gate being loud and obnoxious for the paying campers. Do not camp here, it...

This is a hidden gem in the Akron/Portage Lakes area. Quiet, very clean, well maintained it is beautiful. There is no water nor sewer (dump station at exit) and the children playground is minimal, but to get away close to home for a few days, it is perfect. Boat launch ramp (electric motors only) and decent fishing at campground. Kayakers will love the quiet smooth lake. Camping is by RESERVATION ONLY, so don't just show up and expect a site. 6 Electric only sites, the other 23 are primitive. Pit toilets at campground but no showers. Since this became a metro park (used to be a state park) it has undergone a remarkable transformation. If you haven't been here for a few years, you owe it to yourself to try it again. Easily a 5 star rating for this type of...
