The Arroyo Seco area and trail in the Los Padres National Forest is a great place to visit, and a great trail to hike. There is a day use area and a campground, and the trail starts off of the campground and is primarily a dirt fire road through a canyon and the mountains. There are various single track trails which branch off of the fire road and lead to the river below or continue on deeper into the forest. The scenery is great, but can get hot in the Summer and Fall months. Well worth visiting if in the area to hike or mountain bike, or to simply relax at the day use area or in the river.

Start to the horse bridge: very easy to follow by the main trail. You can also do the loop to Santa Lucia or to the ridge trail from there. (Expect some climb( Be careful if it’s spring as the ridge trail might be quite difficult to find as it won’t be well marked. You will need to find your own way across high grass: wear long pants as you might get ticks. Overall views from the gorges are amazing! Highly recommend this park for a day trip and camp one night!

I went camping here as a kid. So we took our kids to have some fun as well. Hadn't been here in years but I still love it. We went during the weekdays so it wasn't crowded at all. Be sure to bring water shoes for swimming cause its super rocky. Super hot and Leeza and all the staff there are friendly very helpful. We are going to go back soon.

Camp grounds don't have personal garbage cans.Lots of mosquitos.swap with sulfur smell next to camp.We were charged extra for vehicle and extra charge for the picnic area. And what was most wrong was the park ranger was being sarcastic and using a loud intercom telling me to get out at 5pm. Worst park rangers!!!! In Monterey County!!!!😭😠 Be more mindful and respectful to people park rangers!!!!And make it a longer period of time!!!! Most parks close at sunset in...
