I’ve been a customer for over 5 years and could not possibly be happier. Adam, his family, and employees are all some of the best people you’ll ever meet. They’re incredibly kind, hard working, and honest (exactly the kind of people I want to give my money to). I have purchased everything they sell except colored mulch. I use their compost and mix it into the top layer of the soil. The compost slowly works its way deeper into the soil over the years. I know it’s great compost because of all the mushrooms and worms (both great signs of healthy organisms in your soil) I find in the soil. This compost has given my plants a tremendous source of food over the years and kept them healthy. All of the plants in the attached pictures were grown from seed/bulb/small plant to what you see in the pictures, using compost and wood chips from Martins Farm. From what I’ve seen, the compost will keep giving out lots of nutrients anywhere from 2-4 years (after that it still gives out nutrients, just less). I choose to “top off” the soil every 2 years in most places in my garden just because I like the idea of giving my plants more food for the late fall and early spring (going into winter and coming out of winter). I always get excited when it’s time to get more garden material from Martins Farm because it feels like going to catch up with old friends. Lastly, the huge green bushes in the pictures are blueberry bushes (I didn’t prune them last year). Ever since I started adding the compost as well as wood chips to the base of them they have exploded in size and produced tons of fruit (so much that we can’t keep up). I’d say this compost is great for everything. I’ve even spread it all over the lawn as a way to add more organic matter to the soil.

Highly recommend this place for mulch, compost, loam, whatever. Excellent product and friendly service. Whatever you're getting its 10x the quality and half the price of what you can get at the big box stores. I compared bagged topsoil and mulch quality and did the math. Not even counting the dozens of plastic bags you don't have to deal with after a trip to home depot. Adam is great. He'll carefully load your truck or give you a shovel to fill sheetrock buckets or...

I've bought compost here for gardening, and I just took a fieldtrip there today for my Horticulture class at gcc. This place is amazing and they are doing amazing things to keep methane gas out of the atmosphere, and keeping food out of the waste stream. Massachusetts' landfills are gonna hit max capacity in 10 years, and places like Martin's farm are going to help us get out of our future troubles. Please support...
