Northeast Park — Attraction in Greenwood

A nice sized park located next to an elementary school in a subdivision in Greenwood, Indiana. The entrance on maps is often closed and locked, but you can still access the park by going to Northeast Elementary. There is a decent playset for smaller kids, basketball courts, walking paths, baseball and soccer fields. The center attraction is the skatepark which was being used by a few teens while we visited. Unfortunately, the pavilion has been demolished, the only restrooms are porta-potties and there are parts of the park that are damaged from vehicles driving on the wet, muddy grass. There are serious design and drainage issues because there are several parts of the park that are under water. We walked the path around the perimeter of the park and two very large, scary dogs in a neighbor's back yard were jumping up and growling and looked like they were about to escape their enclosure. Because of that scare, I will not walk that path again. This could be a very nice park with a few repairs (and a way to stop the dogs from threatening park goers). I personally love this park because it is my childhood playground that I grew up loving. This is the place that me and my friends always hung out at there was always something to do there. Now that I'm an adult I don't get to go here as much but do know they offer playground area for children, a greenhouse that can be rented to host parties, charcoal grills for grilling out, soccer fields, baseball or softball field, and a pretty cool skate park which was my favorite thing they had to offer at this park back in the day and probly still is. There's all kinds of fun things to do here with you and your family there's usually always something to do or going on so go check out Northeast Park for yourself, mainly in the summer time because to me this is a great place to go and enjoy the day at. Play sports, work out, have a picnic, or do whatever you enjoy doing here as long as it's legal and have fun. Is also pet friendly. The playground, soccer field, skate park, and baseball diamond was nice. Half the park wasn't mowed and the swing set and a few other pieces of playground equipment separate from the main playground seemed abandoned in tall grass and swampy mud.
