I moved into the area in December of 2021 and the Grimes Public Library was one of my first stops. They have an excellent selection of movies - Blu-Rays and DVDs. I have checked out several books - Biographies, Cooking, and Fiction. In addition they offer three of my favorite digital platforms - Hoopla for audiobooks, music, and movies, Kanopy for movies and documentaries, and Libby for ebooks and audiobooks. The staff is very friendly and always greet me when I come in. Edit: November 2023 - the new library building is coming along nicely and I can't wait to visit when it opens! I am always impressed with the new movies and TV shows they bring in. It has saved me a ton of money on streaming services! Edit: January 2024 - the building is almost ready! February 2024 - the new building opened on January 30th. I visited over the weekend. Three levels with children on first, young adult on second, and adult + videos on third. There are several meeting rooms and nice areas to sit.

We were recommended to try out this new Library in Grimes, since it was great for kids of all ages. And the recommendation was correct! Right upon walking in the kids area feels welcoming, with tons of books, play area, nooks, slides, computers and more. Everything is bright and nice, and it's fun to go up the levels to go up in age of books. We spent a good hour and a half here just playing and reading, it was great. We'll definitely be coming back

New library is very large, nice and open. The space is pretty well planned out. The kids things are on the first floor and the rest of the books are all on 2nd.

The kids area is large and plenty of toys to keep them busy. I can't comment on the book selection as this is our first time. Overall it seems like a great library and we'll be back.

They don't have an app for the library card, which is something they should definitely...
