Beautiful place for a sunset picnic.
This is a fairly small "park" where you can pull up into a cul-de-sac type of roadway, park, and walk a short distance to the edge where you can look over and see the endless expanse of water. There are some interesting canons facing the water and a carabao (like a large ox) roaming around at certain times of day, being introduced to the people by Big John. If you see him, take the opportunity to feed him (the carabao, not Big John) and take a picture. He's super friendly (both of them are ;) ). Off to the right (as you enter) you can look down...
Read moreAnother great stop on a drive around Guam. It's amazing to sit here and ponder the reality that it was a Spanish outpost for nearly 300 years and that ships would stop here to re-provision on trips across the Pacific from Acapulco to Manila and back.

The site could be better maintained, and the cannons need to be overhauled as the stands are rotted away. Lots of trash in the area but that's sadly very common here. Having been to other historical sites from the same era in different places (like St. Augustine or Manila) I would have liked to see some more pride in...
