The Colonel Armstrong Tree in Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve is a stunning natural wonder. As one of the tallest and oldest trees in the park, it stands at over 1,400 years old and offers an awe-inspiring sight. The surrounding area is peaceful, with well-maintained trails that allow you to fully appreciate the beauty of the ancient redwoods. It's a must-see for nature lovers and anyone visiting the Guerneville area, providing a humbling reminder of nature's grandeur.

For some reason, every time I visit Armstrong, there is a drizzle. But a little rain doesn't stop determined forest explorers! So we hike in the rain, water bottles in one hand, umbrellas in the other. And every time the beauty of the woods mesmerizes me. Armstrong Woods are a lot less crowded than Muir woods but the redwoods are just as grand. Check it out!

What an incredible experience to stand by an 1400 year old tree, another one that is 1300 year old and to walk in this forest. Thank for saving these two from the fire. The park is clean, the trails are well kept and the staff is very friendly. I totally recommend the visit.
