You can visit my Facebook page or the Hidden Lakes Facebook reviews for the full explanation because Google has a character limit, but here is the extremely condensed version. I mention that because I want you to understand that I'm not bad-mouthing Hidden Lakes for no reason.
We don't play often and had a group of 6 playing a 3 team 2 man scramble. Found out we were breaking the rules on Hole 9 so 2 of our 6 went home so the 4 of us could continue. I'd never played with that many people before so I was unaware it was against the rules. The course marshal impatiently stood on our tee box and practice swung while we were attempting to hit so we let him and the two others with him play through. He peeled out in his cart and never said a word to us. Not thank you and never notified us we were breaking the rules. This was hole 2. At the 9th green, a staff member storms up to us and says we're breaking the rules and must split up. That's when we took responsibility, apologized, and sent 2 of our 6 home. They received a refund for the back 9.
Fast forward to hole 14 (currently on a 4.5 hour round pace) when the marshal came back and told us they had complaints about us playing slowly and that we had 7 groups stacked up behind us. This was obviously untrue because the next closest people were an entire hole behind us. As we were approaching the green on 14 the group of 5 walkers behind us (we have 4 cart riders at this point) are still looking for their drives on 13 so they are nowhere near us. It's obviously personal for the marshal.
We call the clubhouse and explain that there might be a misunderstanding and that it's probably the group behind us because no one is anywhere near us. Joe, the course manager then kicks us off the course. He said, "You guys are done. You're going home. Drive your carts back here or we'll come and get you. We have your names, numbers and credit card info." What does our credit card info have to do with anything???
We get back to the clubhouse and the other gentleman in our group politely introduces himself and shakes Joe's hand. Once Joe finds out we're the ones who called, he escalates the situation immediately by getting amped up and not listening to or explanation.
The marshal is also in the clubhouse so we talk to him and tell him we thought he acted rudely by barging in on our tee box and he then said, "You guys should just stick to TopGolf." The Course Marshall said that to paying customers.
The management was extremely unprofessional and condescending. We will obviously not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe golf course itself may be amateur friendly, but the staff isn't. We made a mistake and accidentally broke the rules and played with 6 instead of 5, even though we had two tee times. We let several parties play through and when we got to 9 no one was behind us. We owned up to it, even though we didnt know the rules before hand, and two of your party left at 9. We continued on playing best ball with 4 and made a much better pace. No one was waiting for us at any hole. The staff came out again and told us to hurry up and that several groups were waiting on us. From what we could see no one was waiting so we decided to call and let them know that it might be the group behind us. They proceeded to tell us that if we don't like it, we can leave. When we returned to the clubhouse one of the staff proceeded to tell me that we should just stick to top golf. I have never felt so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat a terrible experience for my husband, sons, and friends today (Jun 30) at Hidden Valley. Whoever was managing the course was overly aggressive, unnecessarily rude, and actually antagonistic. The circumstances described to me by my husband lead me to believe that this Hidden Valley employee was antagonizing and provoking a fight. Two tee times were made but they started to golf 6 per hole. Rules state max 5. It was no problem to break into two groups of three. The way they were attacked was not warranted. This manager rudely attacked them several times after the initial incident. Really Hidden Valley? You can do better. This person needs serious help before someone gets hurt. He...
