This is an ideal pancake and real Massachusetts maple syrup sugar house. It is not located deep in the woods of Western Massachusetts and is close enough to i91 that allows for a place to have my family gatherings . We have now been coming to North Hadley's Sugar shack for our annual early spring maple syrup and pancakes get together 5 years. We found this treasure when we were looking for a spot that is not too far of a drive for family from both New York and Boston as well as Burlington Vermont. It is perfect for its location and also offers a separate dining area for our large 25 plus family. The other things offered here is we can make reservations which has been very helpful as other or most sugar houses we needed to stand in long lines waiting sometimes over an hour and a half just to be seated. After a two to three and a half hour drive few want to stand in long lines just to get a seat in a very loud seasonal restaurant. Here we can make a reservation a month in advance and can plan on being met by very nice waitstaff. If we plan right and arrive earlier than our reservation we can walk around and experience the process of making maple syrup or explore the knickknacks in the shop. They make some of the best New England pancakes here and offer lots of variations so everyone can have their maple syrup with their preferred pancake or waffle. It is as I said not with the charm found when finding a sugar house deep in the woods of Western Massachusetts but it does have all the other charms of a western Massachusetts sugaring shack. I highly recommend this restaurant for all interested except for the day and time my family is able to enjoy here. So that we are indeed able to reserve our place to enjoy this 5 star Hadley Sugar Shack. You will enjoy...
Read moreFirst off, my wife would give it 5 stars, but I'm giving it 4, so I guess that is a 4.5 rating. This is a very nice location along Rte 47, a little windy in spots, but a very scenic route to take. The farm stand is very nice with a great selection of local produce, meats and plants. The owner is very nice and somewhat sociable and the staff was friendly as well. My only ding with this location is obviously some of their pricing. A few of their items could be priced a little lower too be more competitive with some of the other local farms and farm stands. Don't get me wrong, their produce is...
Read moreWent with a party of 10. Some of the family members were not present, though mitues away. Wanted to start our order as Mom diabetic. Would not seat us, though I explained medical condition, to which they directed me to go to their market, buy a snack, and wait for the rest of my party. Another option was to sit separately in other tables and order. The indifference was troublesome for me. I can't spend my $$ in a place unwilling to make a reasonable medical accommodation. Took my family to the Skinny Pancake instead. My wallet was $200 thinner, but the customer service and food...
