Roadside Park is one of two amazing public beaches in Hagar Township. It has a small gravel parking lot, and a gently-sloping, sandy pathway to the beach. Hagar Park, which is located just a few miles south of here, has a large paved parking lot, a playground for the kids, picnic tables, grills, and stairs to the beach. You can walk along the sandy shores for miles in either direction at both parks. Dogs are allowed at both parks, but must remain leashed at all times. Would not recommend for anyone with any physical disability since there is a 5ft drop to get to the beach, a step ladder has been dug into the sand to help get down. But once you're down, the park area is beautiful and clean. You can continue to walk down the shoreline for what looks like a mile or more. On a Saturday late morning in June, there were very few people and most of them walked further down the shoreline. The beach is sandy and hot, no bugs. Read moreLovely little beach right on the highway. Access is a sandy trail down (and back up!) the dune. There isn't a lot of public beach as it is tucked in the middle of private properties. Dogs on leashes are allowed. It seems folks actually clean up after themselves as we saw no litter on the beach or trail. You can tell it is popular as the parking fills.
