Gorgeous trail along the coast. It's an easy trail, mostly flat 7 miles in an out. The trail is a long the coast with plenty of plants lining up the trail. Beautiful flowers make the trail even more attractive. The views of the cliffs and the beach are mind-blowing. The trail is wide enough but has gravel all along, only a small portion of half a mile is narrow. Bikes are allowed on the trail and is designed to be accessible. You can start trail either on North or South side of highway 1. This place makes California what is is well known for - just gorgeous coast line and this trail is designed for people to get closer to the coast. There is a portable bathroom at the beginning of the trail. Parking is free but is very small lot so it first probably less than 20 cars. Overall a great experience- just enjoy the views and soak in the sounds of calm ocean. Very easy hike but worth spending 2.5 hours along the beautiful...

We visited in late April. The trail follows a cliff above the shoreline. From the trail, we saw a family of whales swimming north close to the shoreline. Also seals on the rocks below the cliff, hawks and vultures flying overhead, snakes and rabbits sharing the trail with us, and a variety of native wildflowers in the fields next to the trail. The trail is 3.5 miles each way; 7 miles round-trip if you do the whole thing. Terrain is mostly flat except for a small gully you have to walk down and up. No shade along the trail, but the coast is usually cool year-round. Portable toilets next to the parking lot, but no...

This trail is right next to the pacific ocean and is a few miles from Half moon bay. It has great views. Round trip can be close to 3miles. There are a couple of great view points along the trail. .

It was cloudy when we visited, but still worth it. On a sunny day, it's a great coastal trail to hike. One suggestion is, to keep binoculars... to see the seals, and a variety of birds.

BTW, Google map was slightly wrong, took us to the wrong entry,...

One of the best easy hikes in the peninsula. Easy to get to just off Hwy 1, south of Half Moon Bay, although parking can be tight, particularly on weekends. In the rainy season the mustard fields bloom and it is beautiful. The trail hugs the coast with striking views of the cliffs and the ocean. The cliffs can be dangerous, so be careful. You may be able to see whale sprays in the spring, just make sure to bring binoculars.

Gorgeous trail among the redwoods and creeks, connecting Half Moon Bay to Redwood City. Most of the trails are under the cover of trees, so it doesn’t get hot even during midday (you may even want to bring a jacket). Look out for the banana slugs that live in the area, they are quite large and bright yellow (fun fact: they are the official mascot of UC Santa Cruz).
