We started our walk from the Cowell ranch beach access area. This trail starts after walking about a half mile from the Cowell ranch beach access parking lot. Parking is limited, around 15 spots, porta potties available at the parking lot and the end of the walk near the stairs.

Be prepared for cold winds. Gorgeous wildflowers along the path. You can walk on north side or south side, beautiful views of the oceans and a blast of wildflowers and scenery including the steep cliffs.

The left side trail gives access to a seal lookout point.

Parking lot closes at 5 pm. Rangers enforce the closure. Plan to walk back...

It is an easy walk from the parking lot to the edge of the ocean. I was not planning on walking or even stopping here, so I was wearing flip-flops, and I still found the walk easy. Dress in layers and bring water. The parking lot is very small so I could find it difficult to park there. There are two bathrooms, fairly clean. I recommend this walk 100%. Across from the parking lot, you can find fresh fruit and vegetables for sale. I didn't...

Gorgeous scenic coastal run. From the hotel I was able to complete a 13.1 mile (6.55mi each way) run. It was absolutely beautiful. Lots of scenic overlooks to stop and take in a panaromic beauty of the coast. Definitely worth the drive from the east bay. And if you can afford a stay at the Ritz-Carlton, you...

Wandering the gentle pathways along the coast here was cleansing for my heart, mind and soul. If you are within an hour of this lovely walk, do yourself a favor and make the drive. There is very little parking, so you are guaranteed a peaceful time. Breathe in and enjoy the fresh coastal air..
