South Ridge Trail — Attraction in Half Moon Bay

The view from the top is incredible. Keep going past where Google Maps takes you and look for the arrow and sign pointing to the right for the Vista Overlook. There’s a big wooden bench. I had the whole place to myself, which is quite remarkable given the breathtaking view of the valley and farms and beach below. The trail is pretty steep in some places. I saw signs that mtn bikers use it but I didn’t see any today. Just some folks with their dogs. I also saw signs that horses use the trail. It’s pretty wide and well-maintained. Lots of forestry access and felled trees. Mostly eucalyptus. It took me about 45 minutes from the time I left Quarry Park, but I stopped along the way to walk that labyrinth.
