Customer service is extremely lacking here. The owner can be very nasty when speaking with patrons. My teen daughter who has been on outdoor gas gocarts previously was having a difficult time cornering this short track which is purposely made slick with powder. After spinning out and hitting the barrier very hard I observed her car being directed off the track. Assuming she asked to stop I questioned her when she exited the track area. It was at this point that she informed me that the owner verbally humiliated her and very nastily instructed the attendent to "get her out of here" because ahe was a "menace". As several patrons exited they confirmed that my daughter had been treated quite disrespectfully. I requested a refund for the 4 remaining races I had prepaid for and was refused. I was told to give them to my son who was also on the track and not having any issues. I then asked for one race ticket to compensate for the race my daughter had been not permitted to finish. At this point I was told to wait for the owner to come speak with me. She was immediately defensive and beligerent and denied humiliating my child. After a few minutes with no resolution in sight, my husband got even louder with her which finally prompted her to back down a bit. By this time most of the patrons left and she knew she had lost business. Eventually she apologized to my daughter which i was happy about and did give us some free tickets. I really think that the owners should take heed of their reputation on these reviews and realize that there is a way to enforce safety rules while speaking respectfully to patrons without humiliating them. My daughter knew she was not controlling the vehicle well and none of us took issue with her being removed from the track. Our beef was in the way the situation...
Read moreThis is indeed a pretty fun way to spend an afternoon. $30 will get you 5 races or so, which are a few minutes apiece. The karts have pretty good acceleration, much better than most places, and probably top out at about 15 mph around the three-corner oval. They have four-point harnesses are roll cages, as well as engine cut outs. The track is smooth concrete, which makes for a drift-car feel as you slide around.
I recommend bringing earplugs, it's a little loud. Also, if you want to split your races up, I highly recommend it. By default, they will have you line up and just go again until you're out of races because it works better for them, but I recommend a race or two and then taking a break by going to to the pit lane. Be careful!!!! They may mark your card for a race you don't race if you do this, so be sure to explain this when you stop.
Races are timed, so it's to your advantage to try not to spin out, because everyone will have to wait for you to get pushed back in place, wasting time.
There was a group of teenagers here who were being a bit disruptive, which was annoying. Another reason to split your races up is that you can look at who you are lining up next to to see if they are people you would like to race against.
I was a bit annoyed that for my second set of races, my car had an issue where its protective bump cage was bent and would not allow me to turn all the way. They tried to sledgehammer it back in place, but when they weren't successful they didn't offer me another car. Their customer service is middling but not atrocious.
Good for kids, but as others have said, must be over 54". Good for...
Read moreI'm torn. I loved this place when I first came to- the first time we visited the Pocono's.. I always wanted to go back because of the sweet ass Go-Karts and the fact that it was inside? Awesome. So.. you'd imagine my surprise when I left feeling cheated and having wanted to spend my money else where. Why? Two main reasons- The first would boil down to, by design, a flaw in it being in-door; it reeked of gasoline and burn rubber and would quickly ruin your eyes and lungs from less than the 3 1/2 minutes it takes to race a single race- I propose better ventilation and filters on the already beaten up and barely running Go-Karts to better quit your patrons.
Secondly, the cashier/greeter/friendly employee, etc was fantastic. I have no complaints about her and she literally did everything she could to make us feel better about our experience and I would recommend going in to talk to her over actually riding the Go-Karts. Yeah. That being said, I cannot say the same about literally any of the other employees.. they were far too involved with each other to talk to anyone or even do their jobs when a patron would be involved in a crash, be turned around on the track or, in my car, turn my car on...
