serene. therapeutic. good for deep breathing. had that mystical, hair standing up on the back of your neck, ambience of a forgotten time, where time stands still, the buzz of the modern world fades away and healing can happen. emotional effects aside, it's friggin gorgeous coming from so cal, spring time here is strikingly different and straight magical, the moss on the trees, the light filtering through, the blanket of pine needles that dampen footsteps, walking along the creek, it is a unique meditation in its own right I'm a fan.

Took my parents (in the 50s) out on the trail and they loved it. It was March and there was still a bunch of snow. Be sure to have good shoes. The visibility was beautiful and the canyon opens up. Lots of wildlife and some rivers down in the bottoms get pretty high when the spring time melt comes. We did see a Moose and though it was early in the season, I would suggest bringing bear spray. Overall a great hike. Mild terrain.

Not a bad hike mostly shade. I wasn't aware if you could go beyond the trail end which is slightly anticlimactic. It's rocky in some places, trail is visible, some over grown shrubs, but hey its nature. If you turn right at the start of the trail people were having lunch by the creek and they have a picnic table. I'll update if I learn anything else

This was a beautiful spring hike with the creek running very high. The trail is cleared past the cascades which is about 2 miles up. Lots of Calypso Orchids (fairy slippers), shooting stars, and wild clematis in bloom in the shady, lush environment. As is typical of spring, we got blue skies, wind, rain, and even groppel snow but the temperature was perfect for hiking. Bring hiking poles to help with...
