We don’t have much here in Fairfield, but Strawberry Hill is definitely a hidden gem and a place I always take guests and friends who are visiting. My children love the hikes and creeks. However the first thing we do is go spend time in the nature center. I was so incredibly disappointed to find out that what I thought was a renovation of the nature center was actually changing it into a classroom. No more seeing the live animals and bees, the taxidermy...you can only see them by booking an “animal ambassador” something or other. In other words, they got rid of it to make more money. Read moreAbsolutely beautiful. Our kids have the best time spending hours playing in these woods. There is also a small outdoor "nature playground" it has 2 swings, a sand box, a table for observing nature treasures, a teepee, a canoe on land to play in, and child size picnic tables where we eat lunch before a hike. There is a small trail and a creek next to the playground. We love the Nature trail across the road from the parking lot. Most people should wear long pants because the trails arent maintained well, hard to see the trail blazes on the trees .
