Hamlin Lake is a man-made lake in Michigan enlarged by the backup of the Big Sable River by the Hamlin Lake Dam before it reaches Lake Michigan. The lake, which covers 5,350 acres or 4,990 acres, is 12 miles long and 2 miles wide. It is the largest man-made lake in Michigan.

This is a HUGE lake, and a great place for bass fishing. We also saw pike in the water (but didn't catch any pike). The water was really clean. There’s a public boat launch and public dock. I highly recommend visiting Hamlin Lake :)

This lake is beautiful. There are many trails to walk around the lake at the state park. You can rent pontoons and fishing boats at several locations around the lake. There are many rental cabins to stay in. You can also rent kayaks, canoes and paddle boats at the state park. I have seen Musky, perch,snapping turtles, gobies, carp and much other wildlife in the water and over by the dam. I have also seen American redstarts, eagles and green herons there. Beautiful place with a really nice beach area, dunes all around and the water was pretty. Really nice place to visit during the summer. Probably helped that I was tripping and there were a lot of very attractive...
