A beautiful place to walk. I've only been once and it's already one of my favorite trails in the area. Autumn is a perfect time to visit, if you're a fungus enthusiast, because I found mushrooms all over the place! I started from the Darlington Trailhead Parking Area. That section starts off as gravel, and it's a bit of uphill walking, but once you get to the top (where the cell towers are) it turns to nice, flat dirt. Normally I wouldn't recommend going off trail, but there is a downed tree a little ways past the towers. You can either try to climb over it or do what I did, and go around through a clearing on the left. Only other thing I'd recommend is to bring your bug spray. There are a few sections of stagnant water where the mosquitoes breed like crazy. I'll definitely be coming back when the weather gets a little cooler!

Don’t go chasing vistas!! Impromptu hike that I am glad I was prepared for. Must have hiking boots, bug spray and enough water. With the slate rocks it gets challenging to keep yourself balanced for the first part of the trail. I was a wee bit nervous of rattlesnakes after pass reviews, but I was able to keep a steady sound of my metal water bottle gracing across my side. I was never able to see any vistas (what I was hoping to see), but I thought it was a great challenging hike. I clocked over 18k steps. The highlight was getting to the little creek area and sitting down on the rock seating. I give the hike 4 stars because there were two dead animals in the parking lot, so many flys and smell, but hence nature does not care about 5 star experience. I only passed 2 people during my solo hours out there, so stay alert.

SO FUN!! This was back during the summer of quarantine, when the hubs and I managed to get away from the kids for a few hours. it felt like the trail went on FOREVER!!! Some parts of the trail were a little bare, but most of it was shaded. It was super level and there were barely any rocks at all. i really wanna go back to see the leaves change!

It was a clear night looking down on the Cumberland valley. We had about 600 feet of elevation change hiking from Lambs gap 2 &1/2 miles toward Millers gap and back again. The trail is well marked. A little muddy and icy but nothing near as messy as hiking the AT from Berheisel bridge road or Sherwood drive. The location Google has marked on its map for Darlington trail is not Darlington trail, but an access road for the antenna array...
