We had a bbq on 8/31/19. I must say the turnout was amazing. My husband and I arrived at 1pm (our area was cleaned by staff the day before) to set up the tables, grill, food, drinks, and to pay for the paddle boat rentals. Instead of renting for $5 per hour, we paid $20 for 7 hrs, and had the guests go in groups of 4. We were at pavilion #1 which had the volleyball net, they provided corn hole, whiffle ball, frisbees, hoola hoops for us. My sister in law and father in went fishing. The beautiful ducks can out to join us, they were very friendly 🦆🦆..The kids park and bathrooms were right across in walking distance, although we didn't have the electricity hook up we had water hook up. We rented a generator (for music) from home depot for $50 for the duration of the bbq.. Clean up was easy, they provided us with four 40-60 gallon garbage bags. Monday morning I went back to the office and they refunded me $30. If we were going to continue residing in VA I will continue having events here. It's worth the money. I reccomend this park to anyone who want to enjoy their bbq, party, baby...

I have been going to Bethel Park since the mid-1970s. Back then, the Army maintained the facility. Later, as Fort Monroe closed down, the facility was turned over to the Air Force. The facilities are maintained and clean. Public rest rooms are porta-johns and they are maintained. Fishing piers are open year round but boat rental is only available during the warmer seasons (I don't know the dates...). You only need the appropriate state fishing licenses. They have a playground for the kids and pavilions with BBQ and picnic table. Normally rental when boat rentals are available, otherwise, it's...

This was a wonderful park with lots of wildlife. There was a person fishing and wild ducks. The park has swings and three different playgrounds. The where people have a party when I went. The had a portable toilet in addition to having a restroom with running water. It is always nice when the restroom has running water. The park is big and had lots of parking. I will probably go back someday. It was...
