This is a free path that takes you out to the beach at Chesapeake Bay. We saw little (actually nearly zero) wildlife on the path, but the beach view was rather nice. If you're tall, you can see a few ponds along the way. And there are trash cans and benches which come in handy.

We walked for quite a while along the beach, bordered by sand dunes on one side. According to satellite view, we could have walked several miles if we had it in us. Not with a tired toddler, thanks! Also, people there were very friendly and shared warm greetings, or at least smiles.

If I had anything negative to add, it would be that parking along the street near the trailhead could be problematic. There are only so many spots. If it gets any busier than it was on a 65°F Christmas day, you might have to wait, walk a ways, or...

Wonderful park, after a short hike through a salt marsh you find yourself on a semi isolated beach. Lots of varieties of waterfowl and the beach offers a tremendous amount of material for beachcombers (shells, rocks, crabs, feathers, etc). We take our two school age children here and they have a blast. Due to the unique flora, low tide creates any number of tide pools and unique landscapes on the beach. Wonderful place for that long walk along the beach or just a fun place to build a sand castle away from the crowds. I highly recommend this place. One thing to take note of is a distinct lack of restroom facilities or any type of potable water, so...

A wonderful nature preserve with a beautiful secluded public beach about a mile walk through marsh! The beach is well hidden and besides a few locals and other explorers the beach is virtually empty any time I go here. It is easy to find an area of the beach to lay down a couple towels and just enjoy the sun and surf without a soul in sight!

Would highly recommend for anyone who doesn't like a crowded beach and enjoys a little privacy with the occasional friendly fisherman or local walking on by! There was another reviewer on here who intelligently reminds others that there are no public facilities here, so make sure you...

It's probably close to a half mile walk from the street where you can park to the actual beach. It's through a nature preserve and it's quite lovely. Benches placed along the way as well as historical stories. Dogs are allowed after September 15th. There are few people out there each time we've gone, probably because of the long walk. We found it to be a good place to get to the beach in an area where you have no worries about social distancing. Waves are small and there's a very gradual slope creating nice shallow water for kids to play. Seems to be strong currents. No lifeguards.

What a great place to go for a date, a walk with friends, or to swim in the bay. Grandview is a gorgeous place, the wind is always right, and the atmosphere is one of a kind. Hidden in Hampton Virginia this nature reserve is one that is top on my list to go to on the Peninsula. Be careful when stepping into and walking in the water there are rocks, logs and crabs that can easily trip you. The water is nice and the animals from hawks flying by when walking to the bay to crabs that snap at your feet in the water.

I hesitated to leave a review because I don't want the word to get out, but this place is amazing. It is basically a private, untouched beach. There are often little to no people here and it is quiet. You have to be careful as there are lots of rocks and natural debris near the water sometimes, but easy to go around and the rest of the sand is clear. Not exactly water you want to swim in, but if you are looking to relax on a beach for the view and some peace and quiet, this place is perfect!
