Went here for part of the Sky's the Limit 2022 challenge. It was a quick 1/2 mile walk. We went through the Garden area first and then along the Discovery trail and looped back around to the parking lot. The garden was pretty and everything was labeled and there were 2 little ponds in the garden area. The Discovery trail was more wooded and the smell of the pine needles covering the trail was so nice. The trail looped around by a big pond with a bunch of viewing points and the parking lot had a great vantage point to see it as well. A lovely walk,...

The hiking is pleasings and the wildlife abundant. Weekends are crowded and lately there has been more shade than sun. Logging has been a problem in the area in the east side of the lake. Many trail closures. Encounters with snakes and small mammals are common. We saw a dragon, but its wings were missing. Colonial settlers left the stones stacked in long rows. Julio says he left his...

Traveled an hour to get here and so happy we did. Wonderful trails and even a native plant garden. We walked the short Discovery trail and then went to the annual native plant sale held by Friends of Goodwin. We came home with amazing plants for pollinators or just color. Looking forward to making a trip back just to hike the rest...
