I would like to start off by saying that the barns was a gorgeous venue! My sister (bride to be), her fiancé, his mother and myself all went to check it out to see if the pictures were just as gorgeous in person! Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience when having a “tour” of the grounds. Jenna, the venue manager was the one conducting this “tour”. From the moment we walked into the building we felt uncomfortable because she was simply not engaging, no personality, and left US to do the exploring. The barns is a pretty pricey venue and Jenna was not able to justify the pricing. Where you have the ceremony is a bit of a walk from where the reception is held and Jenna said several times “it’s muddy and I’ve just been showing people pictures but you guys can walk down there if you want”. I’m sorry but if we wanted to look at pictures, we simply could have just done all our research online and never stepped foot in the place. If Jenna knew it was muddy she should have slapped on some boots and walked down there with her clients! I mean this is a pretty rustic venue geared towards clearly mud friendly people, you would think the manager of the place would have no problem walking the grounds muddy or not with potential clientele. This was a huge disappointment. As we walked down to the little river where the ceremony would be held, we were left to envision how everything would come together when that is 100% Jenna’s job. We were unsure of exactly which direction to go, so it would have been really nice to have someone who’s knowledgeable of the grounds actually show us around. She is the salesperson she needs to help give the bride a visual of how her beautiful day is going to play out. Not ONCE did my sister feel special, important or that it even mattered if she booked the place or not. Finally we come back inside and Jenna sits us down to look over the menu options. She handed my sister a pamphlet. My sisters fiancé, mother and myself are all trying to look over my sisters shoulder to read the menu. Mind you she has an entire stack of these pamphlets sitting at the desk, why weren’t each of us handed one? So I asked my sisters fiancé to hand me and his mother one so we can read along with my sister instead of straining our eyes. Jenna did not even look up from her computer screen as I was asking to have a pamphlet. She didn’t even go through this menu with us, instead she asked us to read it and ask any questions if we needed. She should have went through the ENTIRE break down of the menu , pricing , add ons etc. but she did not engage in conversation at all! SHE STARED AT HER FREAKING COMPUTER SCREEN THE ENTIRE TIME! Finally we try asking some questions and we’re basically getting one word answers and were truly left to figure it out on our own. She did not go over any pricing with my sister as far as what packages my sister might be interested in, what add ons was my sister looking for, she was completely disengaged. Come to find out I guess there is a whole bunch of add ons, like horses in the stable, food trucks and more but not once did Jenna bring any of that up. I come from a history of sales and I can honestly say Jenna is without a doubt the worst customer friendly sales person I have ever met in my entire life! Im actually quite baffled as to how she’s even a venue manager! A wedding is a very important day for a woman, something she’s been planning probably her entire life, something that women are willing to spend THOUSANDS of dollars on and my sister is one of those women! Jenna today you 100% missed the mark! My sister was so extremely excited to see this place and Jenna sucked the fun out of the entire experience. I’m not sure if she was expecting The Barns to sell itself, and although it may be a beautiful place to hold such an event, the over all cost is not worth it. Even if my sister felt the price was justifiable , because of the lack of salesmanship and CARE, she nor I would ever give these people a dime of our hard earned money. Wonderful job...
Read moreWhile most reviews are left by past couples, I felt the need to give you an honest review from a vendor that frequents Stonehurst often! We visit roughly 20-25 wedding venues a season and Stonehurst is by far our favorite venue. From the moment you drive through the beautiful gates, you’re welcomed with a flowered tree line that feels like it’s straight out of a movie. Once you pull up to the mansion it feels like you’ve just arrived home, okay maybe we all don’t live in big beautiful mansions, but it does give you that feeling of home versus a wedding factory. Iykyk!
One of our absolute favorite things about Stonehurst is EVERYTHING IS ON SITE! I can’t tell you how important this is when figuring out logistics and getting the most out of your wedding day. They have two incredible suites in each venue complete with hair salon stations so your hair and makeup team are comfortable. The other suites have a more laid back vibe with a foosball table and big comfy couches. Once you’re done getting ready, there’s endless spots to have a quiet first look with your partner or head over to one of their amazing ceremony sites to say I do! A huge plus for us is they have so many options for ceremonies with the most important being they have a backup rain plan for their ceremonies which is just as beautiful as their outdoor spots. The food is by far the best of any venue, we love it so much we drive an hour from home just to eat at their affiliated restaurant Black Dog Grille which serves some of our favorite SH meals! (Also a great spot for a rehearsal dinner!) The staff at SH are all amazing and extremely accommodating, they make sure the golf carts are ready to go at a moments notice so we can get the couple where they need to be without making them walk in their gowns and suits. Jenna and the staff make you feel so comfortable and that everything is running smoothly and if there is a snag in the timeline they will make sure everything goes as planned without hesitation! This is a huge plus as the last thing the couple wants to do is worry about timelines and when/where their guests are arriving. They take care of it all. The only negative thing I can say about Stonehurst is I wish they were open years ago when I got married because I 100% would have been married there.

Read moreTheres so many amazing things to say about Stonehurst. I’m still in shock at how perfect our wedding day was. Not only is it incredibly beautiful, but the staff will amaze you at every step of the process. We chose The Mansion for our reception and had our ceremony at the little river. Jenna was so responsive and amazing from start to finish. When we were assigned our day-of-coordinator, Kasey, we were so excited because she was sooooooo nice, knowledgeable, calm, and we felt like we were in the best hands. Fast forward to wedding day and nothing could have prepared me for how seamless this day went. At 8am Kasey and Hannah were there ready to go. Our room was set up with mimosas (we chose the open bar package) and everything was just so exciting. The getting ready room in the mansion is extremely spacious and the perfect place to spend the day. We had a ton of bud vases and decor and they got to it right away!! Kasey made sure everything was exactly how we wanted while also ensuring us in the bridal suite were good to go and was there if we needed anything. The reception details were everything I imagined and more. I had not one ounce of worry on my wedding day which is incredible to say. Also, Hannah was there with Kasey all day (does she do every job at stonehurst?? lol) she set up everything as well, kept coming up to make sure everyone was happy and had everything they needed, and when my doggy arrived, she kept visiting her to make sure she was good too! I literally had to do nothing - they took care of it all. The food was AMAZING - everyone is still talking about the BBQ buffet. Also, they ensured we ate all of our apps, dinner, and had our signature drinks for us right after the ceremony. We didn’t miss out on anything. The whole day start to finish was executed flawlessly by the incredible staff who have thought of everything, EVERYTHING! Trust them with your day. I will recommend them to everyone. Thank you Jenna, Kasey, Hannah, and everyone at Stonehurst for being so incredibly kind, talented, and accommodating to every single person. You are...
