The gentleman who is the Host was very knowledgeable, being a life time resident he had us very excited about taking on the sites of Hannibal, everything was great until we entered Ole Plantation restaurant after waiting for about 10 minutes seeing that the place was busy, my Wife and I watched as this server completely ignore us sat 2 patrons down at there seat, came back with menus for them and waited on them and completely ignored us, there were words exchange and they weren't I'm sorry quote " I didn't see you" it was obvious they choose not to serve us in their establishment. Read moreStopped in as soon as we arrived in Hannibal, and the gentleman at the desk was a wealth of information and very kind. He provided us with a map of the area pointing out areas of interest. We were able to ride the river boat, which we both really enjoyed. We also stopped at the pottery shop and Native American store. He told us where to buy tickets for the Mark Twain sites, which we will do on our next trip. The facility was spotless, well stocked with tourist information, and easy to get into. Read moreThe sign on the highway is overgrown and it is easy to miss this place. I am not sure if it is intentional or not. Another negative about the place is that there are no chairs or picknic tables or anywhere to rest and have a drink with the exception of two benches that are out in the sun. Maybe it is intentional so people don't stay or even stop. I will say that the bathroom is very clean but that could be due to the fact that the place is hard to find and is not welcoming by not having any seating. With better signage and some seating the place could go from okay to very good. Not really...
