Riverview Park — Attraction in Hannibal

We stopped here on our way back from a mission trip. It was really neat to drive along the bluffs and get little glimpses of the river. Thankfully we stopped right where the treeline opened up and had our lunch with a panoramic view of the Mississippi! There was a statue of Samuel Clemens overlooking the river, and it was a really neat place to have some Little Caesars pizza and reflect on how our trip went. Home to MANY black squirrels. Beautiful trees and scenic views of the river from a high elevation (hundred ft or so). There is a playground and several picnic tables, or just pull off the road and find a shade tree. There are bathrooms near the playground and another scenic view down that way if you feel like seeing the whole park. There are several paved trails through the woods as well. Please pick up any trash you see (even if it's not yours) and mind the speed limit (15mph), we don't need to be running over any...

It's FREE. First time visit. If in Hannibal, this is a must see simply because it is so big. Don't miss the Mark Twain statue or the river overlooks. If you have a crowd and plan a picnic, this would be the place. We did not check out any of the bathrooms, so that we can't rate. The roads signs are very helpful, but sometimes it was not clear to me when the road transitioned to two way. The car in the middle of the road going the opposite direction was a pretty good indication. But to the parks...
