We visited this preserve for the first time this week. I would recommend it to anyone from 2 years to 100 years (or older, for that matter!). Not only is it educational but you can see so many animals in their natural habitat. We saw scores of turtles and also a couple of very large snapping turtles. There were folks who also saw a bald eagle, but we missed it. However we saw many birds including a heron. The staff are particularly friendly and helped us choose a good trail to explore. It offers an easy walk with the opportunity to see wildlife and experience nature. It’s nice and quiet, besides the sounds of the swamp. I’d recommend going here for exercise, wildlife viewing including bird watching, and learning via the staff or educational material throughout the park. Precious NJ wildlife refuge. Looks the same as any other spot in the East. Annoyed by the ridiculous wildlife watching blinds at the end of the trails. Why? What are we observing?
