No charge to get in last year. It was a nice place to have a picnic and swim in the water. Just be careful, no lifeguards. Bathrooms readily available and kept in good shape. Plenty of benches and places to grill. The old abandoned buildings nearby can be pretty spooky, but it adds to the history of this area. The Tocks Dam project that never was. Forced all the people out of this area in the 70’s by Eminent Domain. Such a shame.

Bring your family and kids here for a good time and nice scenery! Be careful, the Old Mine Road isn’t well maintained in areas. Lots of bumps and small holes. Drive slow. They have patched a bunch in the past year or two so I’ll give them that. But it...

Place is amazing for relaxing, is not crowded, groups are at distance. The place is kept very clean. The grass is nice and green. There are lots of bugs, so make sure to bring bug spray and either umbrellas or tent to cover from the aun because there's hardly any shade. There's a $10 charge per car upto five people on it, additional $2 por person. Is very well worth. There're tables availables at first come first serve and you can bring your grill. No drinking alcohol allowed, but you know how people do. Remember is a river, so you el se the water dirty at time at the edge as the people move around. There's a crowd control at the door so make sure you leave early and is...

Turtle Beach is located six miles north of I-80 on Old Mine Road. This area offers a grassy beach complete with picnic tables and restrooms. You can swim but I wouldn't recommend it not the nicest cleanest Beach basically it's mud

Swimming in areas of the river outside the life guarded beaches is permitted, but not recommended. Strong currents, sharp drop-offs, and constantly changing river conditions make many areas unsafe for swimming.

Wearing a properly fitting life jacket is strongly recommended when swimming.

Never try to swim across the river. Currents are deceiving;many people have drowned attempting to swim from one side of the river...

Entrance is $10. It has a really nice park. Parking lot is very clean. If you're coming here make sure you bring insects repellent because omg, all types of insects. Specially those flies that bite you. Anyways the water is nice, at the edge is dirty due to the mud, but it gets better. Be very careful tho, it's very deep. And make sure you get a good spot under trees because the sun will burn youuuuu. By the way, when you're getting to the location, you will see a traffic light that leads to a small road, if it's RED, make sure you respect it, there are cars coming towards you from in there. Enjoy.

Turtle Beach is a good place for family fun. You can go swimming, kayaking, fishing, hiking or relaxing. Now I know people will get mad cause they don't see sand it's not needed. Turtle Beach is a byo grill as no grills are provided. That is excellent cause I am no fan of the open grills. TB also provide bathrooms, garage, recycle and hot charcoal receptacles. Nice open space to set up a volley ball net or play soccer or touch football. I like it here will return soon to fish the river for sure.
