Dixieland Park — Attraction in Harlingen

This park may not look like much at first but it has a very large area for frisbee golf. It has a covered area for hosting events and a nice view of the water reserve you obviously can't fish there but a water view is still a plus. The playground isn't one of the newer models it's definitely still safe and to be this gives into more sense of Whimsy as it has a different variety of colors as opposed to the newer ones I've noticed popping around here being more blue than anything other colors. It also has a few climbing features that I haven't seen at the more popular Park either. A great place to have a picnic I love coming here in the morning when there's hardly any people or sometimes no one...

It's an interesting park with a large retention lake from the nearby water treatment plant. There are a few playground areas, a pavilion, and part of the park has a disc golf course.

Bird wise: it's a really great place to bird during the winter when the ducks arrive. You can find a number of good birds walking around the park like:

Black-bellied whistling-ducks, lesser scaup, pied-billed grebe, least grebe, cormorants, gulls, ferns, vermillion flycatcher, loggerhead shrike, marsh wren, sometimes some warbler, and diamondback water snakes.

One of the nicest park ive been too and fishing spot . Real peaceful to go and relax and have a picnic with the family and if you like fishing they have a big pond where you can go fish and take your kids fishing too . And a wide area to play and for those pet loves they have a wide area were you can take your dog so he can play and run around . I recommend it to any one looking to spend a nice family time and...
