HCISD Performing Arts Center — Attraction in Harlingen

The two performances my wife and I have witnessed were incredible. I couldn't believe that it was a high school performance. The production was so good and everyone was so talented.

Plenty of seating, clean bathrooms, and the theatre is always cold so bring a jacket. You can tell they put a lot of time and money into some of these shows, so I don't mind paying because I can almost guarantee that it's going to be good.

The parking situation can be a little tricky so I suggest you get there early or park at the middle school next door. They serve snacks and drinks for anyone that wants something to munch.

I highly recommend going here at least once. You don't know what you're missing....

Hearing and seeing the legendary Count Basie Orchestra here tonight was the best concert I've ever heard in Harlingen in the 10 years I've lived here. The band played the Jazz I love to hear yet so seldom get to hear in the valley. As for the Performing Arts Center I felt I was in a real theater! Not an auditorium. Not a venue but a Real Theater. Man, I was blown away! I saw Marry Poppins there earlier and holy moly was it impressive! The theater itself is very nice. It has comfortable chairs and a lovely charm. The only thing I would fix, and trust me, this is just me being nit picky, is the doors that lead into the theater should have something so you can open them and they stay open. Theater wise, that's the only change I'd make. As I said, just something small. Everything else...
