The only reason I'm leaving 3 stars is for wing fest, which is well organized and I've enjoyed everytime. I would give 5 stars for wing fest alone. I just finished snow tubing and would leave 1 star for that if I could. The first time I went snow tubing here was in 2017 or 2018, and the experience was much different than when I went today. For snow tubing, I'd give no or 1 stars if I could.
My group bought our tickets online. When we arrived, there was absolutely no signage about where to go, if we needed to check in somewhere, or how to get to the tubing slope. We walked into the building and wondered around 2 floors looking for some sort of signage, or even a staff member. There was plenty of signage for skiing and snowboarding, but not tubing. We thought we may have needed to get a tag printed, but signage or instructions were non-existent. Eventually we wondered outside and there was no signage about how to find the tubing slope (which was out of view and obscured behind a hill and tree bank to the side of the property). No cordoned off path to get there, either. Eventually we flagged down some ski and snowboarding instructors/staff and asked if we needed to check in or get a tag somewhere, they told us no and that our virtual tickets were fine and gave us instructions on how to find the slope. We get there, there is a pile of multicolored snow tubes to select from. Many of them were partially deflated with no way to reinflate. We took the lift up and there was no staff member at the top regulating launches; a difference from when I had last gone tubing years ago.
Several small children launched too slowly and got stuck halfway down, some people were launching while the lanes weren't clear and colliding into people partway down. At one point, 2 snow tubers launched together in the same lane when a member of my group was only halfway down. As they had doubled up they went much faster than my friend, caught up to him and collided strongly. They collided into an old injury of my friends arm, causing him pain, and one of them was roughly thrown off their tube. After we had already launched once and got back in line, a staff member appeared with a scanner and asked for our printed tickets and said she couldn't scan virtual ones. When we asked where to print the tickets we had bought online, she didn't know but was kind enough to let us back in line anyway.
Unlike when I had previously snow tubed here years ago, there was no snow pile or buffer of any sort to prevent tubers from skidding past the end of the landing zone and into an active ski zone. Myself and several others dangerously slid off the landing zone.
The cherry on top was that some colors of snow tube (blue) went far more slowly and ineffectively than other colors (red), with not enough red tubes to go around for everyone. People in blue tubes often slowed to stop halfway down the slope, often being crashed into by other tubers that had unsafely launched when the lane wasn't clear. The entire experience was so disorganized compared to last time I was here. Staff were kind but not well informed, and there was absolutely no helpful signage anywhere. I'm really disappointed with the drop in quality and don't know...
Read moreThis was our first time there and absolutely our last. We drove almost 2 hrs (bc that's the closest ski resort for us) to find out they didn't have any rentals to rent. We were told to wait about 45 mins, and then there should be rentals available. So we waited the 45 mins, we bought our lift and rental tickets. Went over to rentals, a tall guy with brown hair and blue eyes scans the card. He brings over the snowboard and asks if we had boots, we did not, and he says "well you need boots, and uh, we're really understaffed..." and leaves the counter. We stood there waiting for him to come back since we were confused and wanted to ask who to get boots from then, but he did not come back. The lady beside us (who's son had just gotten his snowboard) must have watched the whole thing and gave us a look of disappointment. Why even sell us tickets if there was no promise of getting equipment? We were so confused and frustrated at the whole process/experience that all of us got refunds, even the ones that brought their own equipment and left. We saw many people get refunds and / or just leave simply bc there weren't any rentals to rent. We were also told, "You could just go next door and buy your own." The whole point of renting is because it's more affordable. Not everyone can simply just go blow $700+ on equipment, let alone that much in general. That's the whole point of renting. There was such a lack of direction and explanation for anything. Especially for guests who have never been...
