I would have given this place a five-star rating because this is always clean and the dog area is really nice my dog actually loves it. However my dog is a service animal I have type 2 diabetes and I'm not feeling well I brought him into the restroom with me or attempted to and one of the workers there will give me a hard time. I feel very disrespected and just because my dog doesn't wear this because it was really hot that day doesn't mean that he's not a service animal. I feel the staff needs to be educated about what a service animal does and does not have to do and what they can and cannot ask a person who has a service animal. My dog is very well behaved I had it under control at all times he didn't have his left on because I wasn't feeling well and it like I said it was hot out that day but it does not say that in the laws that we are required to have our dogs wear a vest. Staff at any establishment are only allowed to ask if your service animal and what test does he perform. My blood sugar that day was over 300 I needed to cool off take my medication and my dog calms me while I'm doing that. He allergic to me while I was driving that my sugars were off. I feel as though the staff member made me feel even worse because it did take me quite a long time to feel better after my episode. Service animals are not an individual entity they become a part of the person who they are servicing so we are one entity when we are together they know nothing else except for to serve their owner partner...

About 90% complete (outdoors still being worked upon). The Interstate Rest Area has a touch of modern museum feel to it. Plenty of parking spots in the well lit lots. Inside, other than the men's and women's bathrooms and drinking fountains, there is a family bathroom option, plenty of USB charging ports, and vending machines that take credit cards. Outdoors, kids play area with rubberised flooring looks like a sculpure garden (and probably hurt like one if one bangs up against one). Walkways are easily visible. There even is an enclosed pet-exercise area. Looking forward to when the observation deck area is complete and whatever else they're working...

Ever wish you could spend a few days a rest area? Much time and money went into the planning of this stop. The bathrooms are state of the art with one of the women's stalls even including a smaller toilet for the children. The Dyson air hand dryers are out of this world and so is the overall design of the building. There are multiple picnic tables and I'd even say you can bird watch because of the wide array of tree species. My only question is why they dropped the ball when it came to selection of vending machines w only 2 cold drink machines, 1 snack machine and 1 hot beverage machine. I wouldn't have been suprised to have...
