It’s a beautiful lake, with a nice ( but small) beach, limited parking, but it’s FREE ! Our 1st time here, on a sunny day in summer . . . brings back so many wonderful childhood memories, spent on picturesque New England lakes! Did you know ? Maine has 6 “ Crystals “ Crystal Lake in Gray, ME Crystal Lake in Harrison, ME Crystal Pond in Washington, ME Crystal Pond in Friendship, ME Crystal Pond in Turner, ME Crystal Pond in East Hancock, ME This Crystal Lake rates well on Maine’s water testing scale. Above average clean to swim. There’s bathrooms, small children’s play equipment. I noticed a gazebo being used for a child’s birthday party! Several folks brought picnic lunches! The highlight. . . the local Ice Cream Truck showed, the kids flocked like pigeons at the park around the truck! 😃👍🏼 Fun Facts 😃🐠💦 Crystal Lake is 446 acres in size Used to be called “ Anonymous Pond” 65 feet at its deepest point Located in Harrison , was “Pondicherry” Town named in honor of Harrison Gray Otis, for his service as U.S. Attorney of Mass. under Pres. Washington & Pres. Adams, plus his service in the Massachusetts Legislature. Early settlement by John Carsley in 1792 1805 - Harrison incorporated 2700 current pop. in Harrison 😃👍🏼💦 Over all, I would recommend a picnic lunch and summer swim here at Crystal Lake in Harrison, ME . . . if it’s not too crowded. (Beach & parking are limited. )

Town Beach and swimming area. Clean grounds well kept. Town boat launch for Crystal Lake. Picnic tables...open or covered. Children's playground. Barbeque grills for wood/ charcoal. Town Recreational / Swim Program for Children. Park for dog use nearby. Basketball Courts and Softball field. Play under the lights. Bandstand for rental use for special occasions. Fair sized gravel parking lot. Within walking distance of variety stores,restaurants and an Ice Cream Shop. Ample sidewalks for wheelchairs or strollers. Large submerged rock near the sandy beach in swimming area known to the locals as the Dragon Rock. You can sit on it in the shallow part of the swim area. New docks installed in 2019 by the Town.Great views...pretty birch trees. Sometimes site of the Old Home Days Carnival and...
