I hope to visit multiple tunnels over the coming months. The first one I went to see was Moonville, which spoiled me with its nice parking lot. King's Hollow had a couple parking spots at the edge of the gravel road, but still was nice. I'm still not completely sure how to drive to this tunnel, lol. Google maps took me to it, but I was on top of it. Being unfamiliar with the area, and it being evening, I parked on the access road and hiked downhill, which did lead me to the other end of the tunnel. I may have been able to drop down the much steeper hillside, but being alone and evening coming on, I was trying to manage any opportunities for mistakes that might make my evening much worse, lol. It is part of the North Bend Trail, and for those more fitness minded, it seems there are multiple tunnels on the trail.
There is a picnic table and a bear safe trash can at the entrance to the tunnel, so I believe there should be a way to get much closer than I did. The trail I walked I would not have felt safe with riding, and I have a V-Strom. The trail behind the bike in the picture is the one I walked, and that is the best part of the trail. There are medium size stones (8 inches to a foot) that you need to watch your step. Not dangerous to walk, but you need to physically be able to handle uneven surfaces. I hope to take the family and find a better path than Google.
