The tunnel is very dark and damp and is around 1,376 feet long. Great sound inside. It is said there can be “a lady in white” haunting it. I heard she was a bride running to get to her wedding and was struck by the train.

The tracks are gone and there is gravel that lines the ground. It’s can be very quiet inside and wild till you make the turn and can see the other end. It seems to be about 4 times as long as the Moonville Tunnel.  Friendly folks live near there and a few dogs including a super friendly Mastiff.

If you park where the GPS says you are on top of the tunnel. You will be next to a very old cemetery that is worth your time. Walk down the gravel hill away from the cemetery for a good distance and there is a gate at the bottom of the hill. That trail will lead you to the tunnel. You can drive down the hill since there is a pull off as well.

After walking towards the tunnel near the last 100 yards, the temperature will drop by about 30° due to the air flow...it is a very cool experience...it just happens like a snap of the fingers! We were there last week in this warm October and it was about 70° out until we...

Do not follow the GPS to where Google takes you. Stop and park at the rails to trails gate a little before where Google says the "destination" is. There will be a gate, park opposite that in the little gravel pull off area beside the creek.

There are off leash (loose) dogs from the houses near the parking area. Be cautious if you are bringing your dog, and keep them on leash.

The tunnel is a little ways down the trail. Very easy walking. Bring a large flashlight if you do not like dark tunnels. The tunnel is about 55° F in the middle of summer, so it's great to do on a hot day. There is a waterfall around the entrance...
