I sent a FB message, asking if their patio was dog friendly, and they responded, "Extremely!" My husband and two pups drove over 40 minutes, just to be greeted by Vicky, wagging her finger at us, telling us that dogs were not allowed. I told her that whomever runs their FB page had said they were. Vicky then went on to tell me that their dog wasn't even allowed on the patio. As we were loading the pups back into the vehicle, she admitted that it was her who had responded to my question. We were treated VERY rudely when the mistake was not ours. A simple offer to do takeout instead of rushing us off the property would have been appreciated!

My wife and I were spending the weekend at North Bend State Park Lodge to relax, hike, dine and relax. We found Wines of Bond Creek on Google maps and headed over on a Saturday afternoon to sample their wines, charcuterie boards, and brick oven pizzas. Oh and to relax. This place is an absolute gem. The wine is wonderful. The charcuterie was just perfect. The pizzas were delicious. The owner and his family were so welcoming and we had great conversations with them along with other patrons. I wish this establishment was closer to use, we would visit every weekend. This is a must try if you are in the area. We can’t wait to return.

Wines of Bonds Creek – A Hidden Gem in Ritchie County Wines of Bonds Creek in Pennsboro, WV offers a fantastic variety of wines from dry reds to sweet fruit blends, many made with their own estate-grown berries. The “Sex in the Vineyard Sangria” is a must-try, and their charcuterie with smoked cream cheese is a fun twist. The large deck with scenic views makes it a perfect spot to relax with a glass. Friendly staff, great wine, and a true local experience!

Only giving one star because I can’t give NONE!

I was hopeful to have a nice evening at Wines of Bonds Creek with friends and family and enjoy our first time here. Unfortunately the owner was less than hospitable. This business is NOT family friendly ! I have never met someone SO rude in my life as the owner of this business. To summarize, we were invited with a group of friends who have supported this business for years and have ate, drank, enjoyed fishing their pond for years and has without a doubt sent much business their way. When we arrived we were greeted by polite waitresses. Who gladly helped with seating us and taking our orders. Our older boys (4) of them went to the pond to fish ( which is something two of the four have done in the past without problem.) The owner told us an adult needed to be down at the pond with them ( we were within visible distance of the children all 11 and older were VERY quiet and behaving better than most adults.) Two of us went down to be with the kids and took two of the other children down as well. Once the food came out we rotated through eating and watching the kids. The owner of the business proceeded to antagonize one of my friends about the fishing saying for her not to bring the poles next time but never said to stop them from fishing. But we felt he didn’t want them there, understandable because it’s his property, ok. We let the kids go fish down the creek aways off his property. Then about 15 minutes later the 4 younger children were laughing and being CHILDREN! The owner embarrassingly shooed us yelling and waving his hands at us to “get out, it’s time to go, you’ve got to get your kids and go.” He never once pulled any of the VERY MUCH SOBER adults aside and asked them nicely to leave or anything. So we got our things, paid for our food, the oldest kids were walking up at this time and only to realize the OWNER SNIPPED THEIR FISHING LINES to the poles that they had sitting with their things. 3 poles he cut the lines on and out of EIGHT children not one of them caused any amount of damage, disruption ( and if they were it was clearly people who can’t handle kids being kids), or injury TO ANYONE!

A grown MAN caused a scene and destruction to these kid’s property and the children did NO HARM! whatsoever! My nearly 14 yo son was in such shock by the way we were all treated! My husband said “if a man was present this would have never happened.” I couldn’t agree more! He took advantage of the fact that we were women and treated us SO wrong!

They have officially LOST all my business and I will NEVER refer them to ANYONE!

I drove a long ways to only see my children, myself and friends be treated with...

NOT family friendly AND I WILL NEVER GO BACK to a place where my family isn't welcome. The owner is extremely rude and hostile. I was there with two friends and our children. We were excited to try the pizza and watch our older boys fish. This was our first visit of the season. Now let me say, the waitresses were very friendly, accommodating and sweet to our kiddos. The owner however was cold and unwelcoming. Our kids were having fun on the patio away from any others dining when the owner came over shooing our children away telling us to leave. All 3 mothers present, SOBER and watching our children closely. We quickly gathered our belongings, paid (which we shouldn't have!!) and left.

THE KICKER to all of this is our older boys (11,11,13) were fishing the pond, being respectful and not disruptive while the owner was very aggressive with his disproval of them fishing. There are no signs saying that fishing isn't allowed or kids aren't allowed. We were watching the boys from the patio.

Can you believe that this GROWN MAN damaged the personal property of THREE CHILDREN but cutting their fishing lines????? CUTTING THEIR FISHING LINES!!! There was no damage done to the personal property of the owners and he goes and cuts the fishing line of 3 boys enjoying their first get together of summer.

Needless to say, if our husbands had been there with us there would have been a very different ending to this experience.

To the owners, I feel bad for your...
