Nice little town feel. Went to see one of my favorite bands, Van Waylon Band, for the 4th of July celebration. The people here were so nice and kind, and I felt safe and secure sitting by myself watching this great band. I try to see them as often as I can. The actual Charley Brown park is really nice and well maintained. Every area i was in was clean and tidy. A little girl sang the National Anthem before the band started. There was a group there with a wall called the Roman's Warrior Foundation for combat warriors. It was truly beautiful, patriotic, and inspirational to see. It had signatures, photos, and letters from and to these wonderful veterans. Some listed were killed in action, some died from conditions while in service, and some died from suicide after service. As well as some info on veterans who are still alive and still struggling with whatever they went through. This wall, as well as the people involved with it, was so heartwarming. It shows there are still many more veterans in need of help. Some of them their own government has forgotten. I heard from a really good source that the band, Van Waylon Band, donated to their cause, too. I hope they decide to have them back next year as well. Thanks goes to all the hard work and organizations and local businesses that take the time, effort, and money to make beautiful celebrations for our Wonderful America for We the People possible.

GPS can use the coordinates 38.660310, -88.536731 which is the southern and "better" entrance to this Park for camper trailers. Park is run by the municipality of Flora. Phone numbers posted on the internet are not helpful since they are only available during normal municipality hours and workdays. After arriving on a Sunday afternoon, we knocked on the door of the residence where the part time park manager resides within the Park. He was very helpful. The sites are fairly spacious. Most trees are fully grown with a 3 foot diameter, lots of shade. Great fishing in large lake with limits of 14 inches and 6 quantity each type. Fire rings, tables, showers newly painted in 2017. Super clean park. It appears they are restoring portions of the children's miniature railroad with new pressure treated ties. 50 Amps available. So much good-water pressure that they had to install regulators on all the hose bibs. Grass and weeds kept in check. Nice Park. Lots of space for kids, including playgrounds.

Nice park with camping, fishing, disc golf and trails (although short). Went running in the park while visiting someone closeby. Flora Country Club is a nice course also with the county fairgrounds nearby

This a beautiful park. I visited it on our stay in Flora. My brother had his pull trailer there. He and his wife really liked the beauty of the trees and how quiet it was. I grew up in Flora and the walk around Charley Brown park was a nostalgic. This was the park that my family had their reunions when I was a child. I saw that there was nice covered places to do that. I will visit this park each time I am in Flora. Flora is blessed to have such...
