Last Monday I had a very pleasant experience at the Cromaine Library that I feel I should share. I was helping my sister move from NW Ohio to the Brighton, MI area and was feeling burned out by the moving crew. I mean, I was going to see ALL of them at Thanksgiving a few weeks later and needed a break. I went to explore and ended up at the Cromaine Library. I had a nice chat about books with a librarian named Megan. She was so incredibly insightful on all sorts of topics. We discussed cookbooks, fiction, biographies, the lot. I felt like I was a member of the family the moment we started to chat. It made me laugh because I was at the library to escape my family and ended up feeling the warmth of it from a strange place by a person I’d never met before. Until they hired the “information” desk people that are to busy to answer questions or they tell you, “ I won’t answer your question, it is the end of my shift” The “ Information” associates that I have seen in there are younger, probably fresh out to college.
