We did visit on a day that the main road in was closed for flood repair but I'm not counting the lack of detour signs against them. We've visited many mounds across the southeast and this is one of the worst. The drive yourself park is poorly signed and designed. Possibly it's good for field trips or special events where there are more people directing. The grass was very high around the mounds and the place has a forgotten look to it. We didn't go into the visitor center because there were no cars and no signs telling us what the building was, we figured it out after we left. I have no ideal on what days and times they are actually open because I have tried them all for example the websites, Facebook and the time posted at the gates. And they are never open. Please don't plan a trip here without talking to someone who can confirm they will be open. I've tried calling (several times)never answered. They explained a Native American game and then allowed the children to play the game out in the field. We went inside, where we were educated about some important symbolism, before we did a fun scavenger hunt in the museum, made custom bear claw necklaces, built log cabins, and visited the gift shop.
