Last summer, my partner and I had the absolute pleasure of getting married at Black Birch and we couldn't have chosen a more enchanting and picturesque setting for our special day.
From the moment we stepped foot on the property, we were swept away by the beauty of the rural vineyard. The rolling hills, endless vine rows, and scenic landscapes painted a perfect backdrop for our wedding ceremony.
The staff at Black Birch were incredibly accommodating and attentive especially Emily. From the initial planning stages to the actual wedding day, they made sure every detail was taken care of, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the joy of our celebration.
Our ceremony took place amidst the lush vineyard, and the natural beauty of the surroundings added a sense of tranquility and romance. As we exchanged our vows, the gentle breeze rustling through the vines made the moment even more magical.
The reception held at the vineyard's modern but rustic barrel room was nothing short of breathtaking. The combination of wooden accents and soft fairy lights created an ambiance that exuded warmth and intimacy. Our guests raved about the delightful wines produced on-site, which perfectly complemented the delectable cuisine served during dinner.
Throughout the evening, the sun set over the vineyard, casting a golden glow that added a touch of enchantment to the festivities. It was a sight that will forever be etched in our hearts and minds.
Black Birch surpassed our wildest expectations as a wedding venue. Its rural charm, attentive staff, and ethereal beauty made it the perfect location for our special day. We couldn't have asked for a more magical and unforgettable experience. If you're looking for a rustic fairytale setting to say "I do" or just a lazy afternoon to sip some wine, Black Birch is an absolute gem that will make your day...
Read moreWow, what an experience I had today. Myself and a few others arrived shortly after opening. We had been looking forward to going to Black Birch for a couple weeks because we planned to celebrate a birthday. So we get there, found the perfect spot, put a couple tables together, set up a table cloth and lots of snacks to enjoy while planning on trying lots of different wines. All of a sudden a very unhappy worker comes to our table and asks us how many people will be attending. We said 10... she then tells us, VERY rudely, that we MUST make reservations and ALL wineries require this with parties more than 8. Now I have been to many wineries in the United States and not once has this been an issue. She then tells us to make a reservation online.. also, very rudely. We proceed to do just that but then see there is a $75 charge for any parties larger than 8. This $75 does not include anything besides a server, which we do not need because we are very capable of getting our own wine and cleaning up after ourselves. I will never again step foot on their property. It's not because of the $75 charge, it's because of the lack of respect for the patrons that enter. This is not the only time this same person has been rude to me when supporting their winery. It is such a shame but I will not continue to support them. My party of 10 decided to go to the Glendale in west Hampton and we received the BEST service and wine. They outshined Black Birch and I'm so happy this experience happened so I could discover such a...
Read moreSo I was driving off by UMass Amherst Route 5 looking for somewhere to buy a gift for a friend. I see signs for a Vineyard down a turnoff and I think, "Oh, its probably a small farmstand or something". I drive across a train track down a mile of road full of industrial supply stores, gravel depots, and heavy machinery, and turn onto a dirt road leading into the woods. At this point I have pretty low expectations when loe and behold a proper Vineyard that wouldn't be out of place in the Berkshires pops up seemingly abruptly in the road. The area is beautiful, the seating stylish, and the tasting area fabulous looking.
I spoke to one of the servers and they helped me pick up a bottle of wine and some kind of local brand of soda for the road. Service was great and pricing was actually quite a bit lower than I'd expect from the post-modern high scale they appeared to be going for.
It is interesting to note the majority of complaints are about pricing, with a vineyard of this style and of this small size you tend to expect higher prices. The fact that one of the lower reviews lists $12 for a tasting of 5 wines to be unacceptable weirds me as that actually seems like a relatively reasonable pricing, as is I was shocked their wine was only $20 ish, as I would've ballparked it at $30 myself.
All in all a beautiful place that I'd recommend to everyone, just don't be surprised that you're getting fancy vineyard prices at a...
