Catfish Lake — Attraction in Havelock

Catfish Lake is not made for people who are used to high class living, it’s remote, absolutely beautiful and the best place I’ve ever been. At the landing (or put in) that is where citizens and military would come out and drink and shoot guns so the is more trash than i’d like but i always pick up a little each time we come to our place. I drove out here in early June. After a long trip on dirt roads, on which my car was being attacked by horseflies, I parked at the first pull up. It was trashed. Amazing place except all the trash left by various people. Plus all the tire damage to the earth created by people off roading. Great place to take your canoe and walk when dry and tire ruts are dried out. It would make an amazing hiking trail if it had been landscaped with a trail. Nice camping places once cleaned up.
