Shenk Family Farm — Attraction in Havelock

I've been a farm products customer for about 6 years now--various cuts of chicken and pork, lard, and of course eggs! Have tried several recipes that Rachel has shared as well. Always great tasting and good quality which keeps me coming back. This past Saturday, was my first visit to the farm for the Shenk Family Farm tour hosted by Joe, Rachel, Mason and Daisy. Very impressive indeed to see the philosophy in action and witness the conditions in which the animals grow and thrive in harmony with nature. I had the pleasure of buying beef, chicken, pork, pet products and eggs from Shenk Family Farm for six months while living in Atlantic Beach, NC this year. We shopped with them every week and tried something new each time. We were never dissapointed with the meats, ease of ordering or customer service from their team. All the meats are exceptional but I highly reccomend the chicken thighs, ground beef and bone-in pork chops. Those are the ones we had in the refrigerator at all times. Remeber to cook these meats within a day or two because they are that fresh and don't have any preservatives. After having Shenk's, we are spoiled and look forward to seeing them...

I have been a customer of Shenk Family Farm from the beginning. I have long been a huge fan of their chickens and eggs. When I visit friends and family they usually request I bring eggs with me. I find that I am running out of adjectives to describe their chicken, turkey, pork and beef products. The perfect chicken or turkey is prepared only with a bit of salt and pepper and comes out delicious! The pork is so flavorful and the fat has the whitest cleanest taste; it is truly addicting. The beef lives up to the high standards of quality and flavor that the eggs, chicken, turkey and pork deliver. I can not wait to see (and cook)...
