The covered bridge was one of the places visited by Charles Kuralt (1934 - 1997), American journalist and CBS correspondent, and documented in his book "On the Road with Charles Kuralt", published 1985, Putnam. Kuralt interviewed Milton Graton who rebuilt the bridge only to have it blown down by Hurricane Frederic a couple of days after reopening. The attached photo was taken during Kuralt's interview...

A boat ramp with good parking for trailers and a few car top carriers. A short mowed nature trail with out any interpretation. Several picnic tables. No toilet or trash! Dirt road that's pretty rutted. If you aren't putting a boat in the river I'm not sure why you...

Kuralt interviewed Milton Graton who rebuilt the bridge only to have it blown down by Hurricane Frederic a couple of days after reopening.
