While descending to Volcano National Park, we discovered a charming spot that nearly escaped our notice, prompting us to make a quick turn. Fortunately, our detour led us to a delightful experience. The proprietor, who managed the area, impressed us with his courtesy and extensive knowledge of chocolate production. He made the chocolate-making process engaging and informative. We were graciously allowed to explore his garden, featuring an array of flowers, vanilla, and cacao. The tasting session included samples of both milk and dark chocolate, with the latter standing out for its delightful lack of bitterness. Ultimately, I opted for a half-and-half chocolate bar. Our family is fortunate to be close neighbors to this beautiful and magical place. Their seed to table chocolate is the most amazing we have ever experienced! It's now my go to for baking and simply munching on when a chocolate craving hits. James, the proprietor, was so kind and gave my daughter a cocoa pod, and now we're germinating seeds and ready to plant our own cocoa trees.
