This feels like a Caribbean white sand beach nestled in the big island. Parking was plentiful and easy. The beach was covered in soft white sand perfect for sand castle making.
The water was different each day. One day the waves were large which brought in tons of experience boogie boarders. Other days it was calm and clear which brought in a host of high jumping spinner dolphins and sea turtles. Another day it was in between, moderate waves and clear water which made for a lot of family fun in the water.
There is limited shade so plan to bring an un umbrella and like most beautiful places it can get a bit crowded but you should come and enjoy all this amazing beach...
Read moreIve been coming to this beach for over 30 years. Recently they paved the road making access to this beach much easier from the 4 wheel drive road of the past. The new road has changed the complexion of the beach but it has also made it a comfortable and easy visit. The beach has onsite bath rooms and showers which is amazing. The sand here is perfect..the water is perfect. This spot has amazing energy. Also a great shore break. Worth a visit and as always sho respect to this beautiful place and clean up after yourself...

We arrived around 9 am on a weekend day and were able to get a parking spot but would recommend arriving before 10 to ensure you don't have to have too far of a trek down to the beach. The sand is gorgeous and soft, the lava rock formations are beautiful and the water is crystal clear. Perfect for a half day or full day of beachside relaxation!
