Incredibly unique setting and views, and accessible by car. From this 3400’ peak offering a panoramic view of Lake Chatuge, the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the distant Smokey Mountains of North Carolina. Two levels of parking and multiple observation decks. The uplifted nearly vertical quartzite rocks are adorned with layers of interesting graffiti. The two way access road is only one to one and half lane wide, and there are sections that exceed grades I’ve experienced driving seeming paved goat paths in the Alps and elsewhere in Europe, so be prepared and AVOID in slippery conditions.

The drive up the mountain was really scary because the road is narrow and you can't keep driving if a car is coming from the opposite direction. Although the ride up was scary, the views were awesome. We went there at around 6pm, so we got to see the sunset. It looked very pretty and it looks like it is very tall! On one side I could see the mountains with water and the other side is the national forest. Overall, I enjoyed this place because it looked beautiful.

A beautiful place to visit. Be careful driving up to the top because the road is narrow and they dont have pull outs. Be careful driving up/down the mountain meeting people. I drove up it in a Dodge 2500 6 speed. I drove in 1st and 2nd gear all the way to the top. And 1st gear all the way off so i didn't have to hold my brakes. This road gets really steep in a couple places. Well worth the drive to see the gorgeous views.

The best view of lake chatuge and the surrounding mountains. Travel up a long single lane road with various turnoffs for passerbys.. along the way to fantastic views. The rocks are covered in graffiti, which has recently been outlawed. There is an overlook with a history placard and wooden stairs to the top three mountain has been mock named butt crack mountain because from a distance it looks like 2 butt cheeks. The highest cheek had the stairs and the other had trails and can...
