Rum River State Forest — Attraction in Hayland Township

I'm opening up Minnesota's first and only gold panning camp at the new soon to open campground Camp at the Vineyards on the beautiful Groundhouse River on the border of Kanabec and Milaca county's. We are secluded and surrounded by the Rum River State Forest we are part of Vineyard by Boudreau where we will be harvesting our grapes and other fruits to make our fruitful elegant wine's and opening to the public in 2022 when the Vines start producing our bountiful variety grapes from the best vines of quality wine producing Vineyards throughout the globe. Such a wonderful slice of wilderness not far from a metro. Easy to get into, and the roads are generally well maintained roads throughout.

Tons of wildlife, wooded area and river/creeks and small ponds. Bugs are always out in force but that's minnesota forests for you.

There are places you can shoot into banks, wade in creeks and toss a day to trails.

My only reason for dropping a star is because a lot of the best and most accessible areas are private, and roads/traffic sounds are everywhere due to all the crossing/cut...

Went camping here. Had a really fun time. We ended up in a really swampy area but the challenge of getting a fire going, staying dry, and just overall staying comfortable with no cell service and just a backpack full of gear wad a great experience. Will definitely come back. I wished other people picked up their ammunition brass and garbage but we ended up cleaning up a bit around our camping spot. No fault of the state forest, still a...
