This park is expansive, well thought out and maintained. It is supported by individual donors, which explains the excellent quality covered pavilions with tables, generous sized waste cans and availability of waste bags around the entire perimeter. This is a town that recognizes the need for dogs to play off leash. It is part of a massive sports complex. The large dog part of the park is at least 2 football fields in size. The small dog side appears a bit smaller. Their dog watering stations are great.. See pic. A+ job here. Love it. Easy stop for travelers on the I-70.

Beautiful dog park in the middle of a large college park/ sports complex. Sections: Separate small and large dog areas. Gate: Double gated. Waste: Bags and bins provided. Grounds: Grass; Well maintained; minimal dog waste left on ground. Size: Large. Water: Fountains were available but locked. Features: Permanent fixtures/ activities within gated areas. Seating: Covered seating area with picnic tables. Bathrooms: Unsure.

This dog park is fantastic. It’s about 5 minutes off of I-70. There are actually two dog parks that are separated by the fence - one for big dogs and one for small dogs. It’s completely fenced in with very tall chain link fencing, it’s HUGE, it has covered shelter areas with benches and picnic tables, little obstacles for dogs to play on, cleanup stations with bags, two beautiful Rainbow Bridge memorials, and it’s very clean. It’s located in the Fort Hays State University Bickle Schmidt Sports Complex. Great spot to let your pups run...

My dogs love the Hays Dog Park! There's so much space to run and tires for them to run on. I like the convenience of the poop bags and the fact that's it's rarely muddy. We've been in every kind of weather and only had a problem with one dog whose owner left with him immediately after. People are very respectful of each other's pets and aware of their own dog's behavior. Unfortunately its a bit of town so it's a bit underutilized but an excellent dog park overall. Both my dogs and I highly...
