First off, very hot the day we went. I like to tell others what we experienced, that way people can make suitable decisions.

if you enter the trail across from the bathrooms, (1.3 miles down) it's steep in some places. Need to hang on to trees and watch your footing. Very shady all the way down. If you exit this way, it will be straight up with no rest for your back and knees.

water falls beautiful n felt awesome. Recommend to wear shoes in water, jagged small rocks. There us a mini beach. Only knee deep near the falls by the large over hang rocks. A lot if places to venture away from others.

to go back up, we took the trail with the falls being on our left side. This was a lot better on our knees and backs. It was a straight path, with it going up, down, and straight. It gives your knees and back a rest. Now there is man made steps carved out of rocks and soil ( no decking material). There's around 85 steps spread out before you exit the trail.

1 set of steps are steep, but by here your very close to exiting. This trail will come out on the other side of parking area, not in front of the bathrooms.

**It is a must see, but it is Not handicapped, cane, or...

I don’t know how I’ve explored like everywhere else in the Gorge except here. This place is gorgeous. I listened to reviews and followed the google map not the All Trails app gps and found the trail head just fine. You do turn off onto an all gravel road and take that to the trail head for like 2.5 miles. You’ll run right into the parking area. I also took the trail loop going counterclockwise like suggested, and boy was that smart cause trying to climb that being tired on the way back would suck! I took my dog and we had a blast. The trees were gorgeous, the trail is mostly gravel which was great because we visited after days of storms, and the falls were so pretty. It’s definitely an easy to moderate trail based on fitness level because there’s lots of stairs/ stone steps descending down to the river. It was well marked. There’s an overlook for the falls if hikers don’t want to go down to the bottom of the falls and stay on trail instead. This is definitely a gem and made it to my list of favorites! Went on a week day and we had the entire falls to ourselves, not a soul on trail. Definitely...

Despite the three mile dirt road to get there, this is one of the most popular trails at the Gorge, barring only Auxier Ridge. That being said, it tends to be a bit crowded on the weekends and holidays.

With that in mind, it is certainly worth the hike (which is only a little bit over a mile), especially considering the rockbridge is only a few hundred feet away, and equally beautiful.

All of the major sites are at the were elevations here, so if you are looking for overlooks and expansive views, you are better off going to Auxier Ridge, Cloudsplitter/Indian Staircase, Chimney Rock, or even Sky Bridge (or even heading over to the nearby Natural Bridge State Park).

If, like me, you enjoy the natural wonder of the sites in the depths of the gorge, then I would suggest continuing on the Rock Bridge Trail to the Swift Camp Creek Trail, which, like the name implies, is full of amazing camping spots, as well as waterfalls, large alcoves, and amazing...
