Today I had the pleasure of bussing a group of enthusiastic 11th graders out to the Greater Hazleton Rails to Trails for a community cleanup and revitalization project — and let me tell you, they showed up ready to work! 💪
It was inspiring to watch these students roll up their sleeves and take pride in improving their local environment. Together, they removed dead trees, trimmed overgrown branches, cleared out the drainage ditch, cleaned story posts, cut the grass along the trail, and even planted new grass to bring fresh life to the area. 🌱
What really stood out was their teamwork and determination. Every student gave their best, and by the end of the day, the trail looked incredible — cleaner, safer, and more welcoming for everyone who walks or rides it. None of this would’ve been possible without the support of the school board and Trail Communities Associates, who made this hands-on learning experience happen.

Read moreAwesome trail for biking, running and walking! This trail is not difficult and is great for all ages. The first section runs from route 93 to the Stockton Road. This section has a slight down grade as you approach Stockton Road. Coming back to the beginning has a slight incline but is not too hard at all. Crossing Stockton Road will take you out to the Dreck Reservoir. Beyond that, the trail continues for several miles through forest and open lands. Read moreThis trail is a great place for kids and adults. It is very well groomed with a good bit of excersize stations (minature play playground equipment) along the path that had my kids pumped up. Loved the walk they even have 5 and 10k markers on it. There is benches and picnic tables throughout the walk and even an Indian walk which was cool. Good place to walk or bike. Took my 7, 5, and 2 year old here. We made it about half way and turned back...
