Personally would not recommend visiting if you’re traveling thousands of miles to experience Sonoma County. As soon as we stepped in the door, Lori had already sized us up and came off judgmental once she heard where we were from. This was our very first time visiting Napa/Sonoma County and Lori was quick to correct me over small details about the specific wine region. We did not feel welcome here because of Lori, this was supposed to be a learning experience for us not a criticism contest.
All of the other Wineries we visited on our trip would pour the wine right in front of us, but here at Silver Oak each wine was already poured when we arrived. Patricia was kind to us and she hosted our Comparative Wine Tasting between the Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. These Cabs were okay, but we had zero interest in taking any with us after our experience here.
Undeniably this a gorgeous Winery, the architecture is stunning and the views from the tasting room are awesome. The best reason to visit Silver Oak in Alexander Valley is for the photos, once you’ve taken them just turnaround and spend your money elsewhere.

Read moreWe visited the new Silver Oak winery in Healdsburg this past week and are still in awe of it! Healdsburg itself is a dream to visit and Silver Oak Alexander Valley is a now a must-see! The drive along Hwy 128 is breathtaking. We took the drive very slow so we could take in all the views… vast farmland, beautiful mountains, adorable cottages, and old barns that you just know hold some incredible stories!
If you’ve visited Silver Oak in Oakville/ Napa Valley, you know how warm and welcoming everyone is—the same is true here. We had a tour of the Healdsburg winery and are still blown away by the craftsmanship and technology that went into making this the most eco-friendly and sustainable winery. The architecture is the first thing you notice—buildings inspired by the old barns you see along Hwy 128, but with a modern twist. The water feature near the entrance is picturesque to say the least, but we were really blown away once inside the tasting room. The minimalist design allows the incredible panoramic views to really shine. We could have sat there forever...
Read moreWe came here for a winery tour and had a good time. They took us through the vineyard, the storage room for the barrels (which they have to keep relatively cool to preserve the wines), the library, and the area where the wine is made in the big containers.
Tour: The tour through the facilities was good as the building architecture is aesthetically pleasing. They also were generous in pouring the couple of wines they gave us to taste on our tour. My only suggestion to have a more enhanced experience is to have more personable guides. They were knowledgeable in their information about the winery which was wonderful! I always say that the guide makes or breaks the experience as they are the bridge to whether or not one will want to purchase bottles of wine - whether or not the wine is superb quality.
Price: $65 per person for the tour. You also get complimentary wine glasses with this and they do pour more generously than other wineries do on their tours.
Parking: Parking is available close to...
