After looking at their website and seeing that they make some fun varieties such as Fiano and Aglianico - plus some more traditional favorites like Syrah, Zinfandel and Sangiovese - I knew we needed to pass by, and I’m so happy we did! First off, Dina was a wealth of knowledge about the winery - their story, production & farming techniques for the wines themselves, etc - and she was just enjoyable to talk with overall. The tasting room itself is small and intimate, and we enjoyed every single wine poured. Stylistically the wines here are clean, elegant and balanced. Most will pair great with food, but are also enjoyable on their own. It’s clear the owners/winemaker are passionate about creating quality wines that emphasize the varietal characteristics and terroir of the area. We took home almost a case and plan to order more - and will definitely pass by again when we’re in the area. We were able to get in last minute on a weekday midweek, but I would recommend making a reservation since they are very...
Read moreToday as an early birthday present, I went wine tasting at Unti. Literally just a couple of minutes ago we got home! Elizabeth (sorry if I spelled it differently!!) served us and she was absolutely amazing. We learned about the vineyards, the various wines, and how she saved a hummingbird while on the property. In addition she is a level 3 WSET (extremely proud of her) and gave my boyfriend tips on the upcoming test / how to study for it. She was personable and made the experience. The winery doesn’t have a set flight list for you to taste so instead, the winery gives you all the wines offered and you get to choose your fate (aka 6 wines). Not only did we taste the Cuvée Foudre and Montepuciano, but we may have walked away with some wines as well 😉. I learned so much about the Winery during the experience and I hope others come spend some time here because the wines, customer service, and view is...
Read moreThe Unti Family are exactly why I love Sonoma County and Dry Creek in particular when it comes to wine AVAs. They are not just great wine makers, but stewards of the land and fine folks all around. George and Mick are main faces and two of the nicest and most knowledgeable folks you will ever meet. Their wines are luscious, balanced and show what Dry Creek Valley tastes like and how similar it is to their favorite places in Italy. The customer service at the wonderful little tasting room is second to none and good time will be had by all. I have been drinking their wines since about 2000 if memory serves and they are the best producers of Sangiovese I have ever had from CA!! They several lovely wines though including amazing Syrahs and blends of all types. Their Zinfandels are also a favorite and that is saying something in the Valley that produces my all time...
